This is you. This weird, creepy thing. And you live in a world created by a lot of other weird, creepy things like this. They’re around you every day.
Now think of all these weird, creepy things with their eyeballs fixed on televisions or computers. All these weird, creepy things. Buzzing over and over and over from stimuli stimuli stimuli. It’s pretty fucked up when you think about it. This is the world we’re in right now.
I remember some Tibetan monks talking about ‘monkey brain’. I think it’s similar to this. This is the weird, biological, animal thing you are.
So the question is: What are you going to do with this weird thing? Don’t just unthinkingly, impulsively keep triggering it over and over and over again with stimuli stimuli stimuli.
You need to take a break from all this shit. This nervous system needs a break. These eyeballs and this brain need a break.
Give them a break. Stop the stimuli and twitching.
Just take some time to calm down, really calm down, and breathe. Close your eyes and breathe.
Pray for this weird, sad, spindly thing to be happy. Stop jamming it with crap all the time. Think about what you’re doing. Be mindful. Try to be a source of calm and peacefulness in this crazy world. A source of good. A source of health.
