markacollett.substack.com: Trump – Immigration, Deportations and the Reality of U.S. Demographics
As Trump has now reached the midterm elections that will act as a barometer to measure his popularity, the question must be asked: has he delivered on his proposed immigration reforms, but more crucially, will the changes that have been made have any tangible effect on the demographic trajectory of America?
Mark asks this important question. He then goes on to give background into various aspects of immigration in the USA, what Trump promised, and then evaluates his performance in various areas.
The vast majority of immigration into the US has historically flowed over America’s Southern border with Mexico. Under the Biden administration there was an effective open border policy and border crossings reached an all-time high. During Biden’s tenure as president, data from the Migration Policy Institute (MPI) shows that border authorities recorded approximately 8.6 million migrant crossings from January 2021 through to October 2024, peaking at an all-time annual high of nearly 2.5 million in the fiscal year 2023.
The assessment is that Trump has had a pronounced effect on reducing immigration:
It would be hard to claim that Trump hasn’t made good on his pre-election promises. While it is true that his deportation numbers have failed to hit the targets he set, falling just short of the one-million-per-year target that was promised, and his attempt to end birthright citizenship was struck down by the court, for the most part, Trump’s promises on immigration were met. As a result, net migration has fallen dramatically.
But the problem is the larger context:
The key stumbling block for Trump’s policies on immigration is that the current demographic make-up of the U.S. and the country’s demographic trajectory is much worse than that of other Western nations. The headline figure states that U.S. citizens who are classified as non-Hispanic white make up between just 56% and 58% of the overall population. This, in short, means that European Americans are already on the cusp of becoming a minority. Further to this, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), non-Hispanic white births now make up less than 49% of total live births, meaning that the majority of births in the U.S. result in babies that would be classed as having a non-white background.
The situation isn’t good by any means.
The takeaway from this is that even without continued immigration into America, the non-Hispanic white population would continue to decline due to its age structure. Effectively, the non-Hispanic white population pyramid has now been inverted; as such, its base is no longer wider than its upper levels. This ‘top-heavy’ structure is not sustainable and will always lead to a population shrinking in size as deaths outpace births.
Mark then goes on to discuss when the tipping point actually occurred, and concludes that Trumps policies would need to have been enacted 50 years sooner to have a marked effect on the demographics of the USA:
Had Trump’s current policies been enacted in the 1970s, or at the very latest the early 1980s, a highly restrictive anti-immigration administration that instituted immediate deportations, frozen asylum applications, and drastically cut legal immigration, would have successfully preempted the massive migration waves of the 1980s and 1990s. But by the time the 1990 census was recorded, the driver for demographic change in the U.S. had already shifted from immigration to the internal rate of births and deaths.
Did Trump’s policies have any effect?
Before Trump came to power, demographers looking at historical census data and accounting for large waves of Hispanic migration estimated that non-Hispanic whites would become a minority in America by 2044. However, Trump has both reduced migration and had a degree of success with his remigration policies. Yet due to previous swamping levels of migration, Trump’s figures amount to a mere drop in the ocean, and the net effect of Trump’s presidency on America’s demographics is that the date when non-Hispanic whites finally become a minority has been shifted back by just one single year – moving the date to some point in 2045.
Trump’s own abandonment of his base and his rabid support of terrorist Israel, effectively make the USA complicit in the gravest of human rights violations and war crimes, has only damaged the cause of immigration restriction:
Due to Trump’s extremely unpopular pro-Zionist war with Iran, it is highly likely that any momentum that the anti-immigration movement would have had post-Trump will be lost.
The most damning thing about Trump:
…the biggest issue regarding Trump’s anti-immigration agenda is that it has been bundled with a number of deeply unpopular pro-Zionist policies that have led to a totally unnecessary war in the Middle East which has caused a cost-of-living crisis for middle-class families in America. This disastrous series of decisions and the ensuing fallout will likely not only taint Donald Trump and destroy his legacy but will also damage the anti-immigration movement, which is unfortunately largely wedded to both Trump and the MAGA movement. Due to the domestic consequences of Trump’s war for Israel, it is likely voters will choose to punish Trump – as a result, Republican voters will stay at home and Democrat voters will come out in record numbers. This will usher in a new anti-Trump, Democrat-led era, where the first casualty will be the anti-immigration movement, which will involve sweeping repeals of policies relating to both border control and deportations.
In short, Trump fucked things up badly. Things are likely to end up worse than before this lying swindler abused the American people on behalf of jews and became a war criminal and a terrorist.
The 2026 midterm elections in the USA which took place yesterday were a massive repudiation of the pro-jew bullshit which has utterly gripped the Repugnican party. There is extensive rot and stench on the Democrap side as well, but there is a faction within the party to break from Israel and that faction will have a stronger voice, or at least force the party elites to expose their pro-jewish hypocrisy and allegiance.
America is totally fucked up because of jews. The GOP blowout is a reaction to it, but not a fix, because jews still have a stranglehold over Big Tech, Big Media. Jewish nepotism is as bad as it ever was at elite levels in US society. The USA’s entanglement with the terrorist state of Israel is still very deep.
Trump fucked up one of the most critical issues facing the USA. He used the American people’s grave concerns about the demographic breakdown of our country to support jews.
